Enugu Rangers forward and current team leading scorer in the CAF Confederations Cup with three goals Godwin Aguda has stated that the Flying Antelopes are happy after securing a scoreless draw away to Algerian side USM Bel Abbes in the first leg of their CAF Confederation cup first round tie.
Rangers beat Defence Force of Ethiopia home and away with an aggregate of 5 – 1 with Aguda scoring three goals in the process and was instrumental in Ranger’s away draw against USM Bel Abbes.
Aguda speaking with Sports247.ng on his team’s CAF Confederation cup form where they have won twice with one draw despite having played twice away attributed the team’s bright run to hard work on the part of everyone in the team. “I think the kudos has to go to the team, I might have scored three goals but without the team it wouldn’t have been the same.
The coach and the back room staff are doing a lot to ensure that we achieve well in this competition and hopefully bring home the trophy but we know it’s not going to be easy. The next game will be at home and I must say it is more difficult because we have to ensure we win but by God’s grace I know we will.”
Enugu Rangers will entertain USM Bel Abbes in the first round reverse fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu on Sunday December 23rd.
