Rangers Boss Ilechukwu Eyes Strong Finish Ahead Of Bayelsa United Clash

Rangers International head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, is aiming to build momentum from their 2-0 victory over Ikorodu City as they prepare to take on Bayelsa United in a Matchday 23 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this Sunday.

The reigning champions secured the win last matchday through goals from Godwin Obaje and Isaac Saviour, and Ilechukwu is determined to keep the team on track for a strong finish to the campaign.

Despite some inconsistent performances, the former Heartland and Plateau United tactician insists there is no pressure in defending their title.

“No doubt, we are going to build on the win we achieved against Ikorodu City at home and push for a positive finish to our campaign this season,” Ilechukwu said.

“Sure, we are not under any pressure again, and the boys understand what is at stake as defending champions. I believe in their abilities to deliver the goods henceforth.”

Rangers will take on Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, with kickoff set for 4 pm.
