Eight clubs would be at war when the maiden edition of the Extra Quality Ramadan Football Championship kicks off next Monday at Eko Boys High School playground, Idi- Araba, Mushin, Lagos.
In a fixture released by the organizers, MS Success FC would play the opening match against Brener Sports FC, while FC Robo Warrior would keep a date with Divine FC. De Lapel FC would face an uphill task when they confront Utility Sport as FC Brave slug it out against Diadem Stallion next Friday
The tournament which is the knockout format is organized and coordinated by a football administrator and coach, Musbau Oseni
Oseni said the tournament was put together to keep the players busy during the Ramadan period and urged them not to see the tourney as a do-or-die affair. He also charged the football fans and club owners to desist from any form of social vices that can tarnish the image of the competition.
“There is nothing at stake. All participating teams are champions. This is an invitational tournament and I don’t see any reason, the club owner or football fans should go on violence during or after the competition. As we all know the tourney is on a knockout basis so if you are beaten, take the match like that instead of taking the law into your hands. I wish all the teams all the best in their outings,” he said.
