It takes only determination and self-belief from any player that was purchased for the singular reason of moving his new club out of the relegation zone.
That was the case of Ibrahim Tomiwa Gbadamosi, when he was unveiled by Qizilqum’ in the Uzbekistan Superliga.
Qizilqum’ were rocking the bottom of the 14 teams Superliga division.
Ibrahim coming in his first match with a history of 7 straight defeat and managing only 2 draws, the team ozed with low esteem.
Ibrahim scored the winning goal in his debut game against FC Zaamin in away fixture quickly followed by another goal in another away match against Mettalurg.
Qizilqum’ never lost any match until the season ended capping it with an away draw against Bunyodkor in an away match for the last game of the season.
Ibrahim had drawn attention to himself with the timely goals scored, his overall contribution during matches, 2 assists, 2 man of the match awards and most importantly making the Uzbekistan Superliga 11 two times in consecutive weeks.
“It is a great feeling of accomplishment for me to make a bold statement in the SuperLiga in short notice.
“I left Nigeria in a modest Chykap int FC with the lower league FC Qtepa in mind but it took only 3 weeks with the club for me to score 5 goals and the golden chance came calling.
I appreciate everyone involved in my friendship with football ” he stated.
