It has been excitements and goals galore at the match venues of the maiden edition of Prof. Oyebode U15 Football Competition for boys and girls played across different centers in the state.
A total of 60 goals was scored in 21 matches played at the group stages in the boys’ category.
After matchday 3, eight teams including Irepodun- Ifelodun, Efon, Ido-Osi, Oye, Gbonyin, Ado, Ekiti East have qualified for the quarter-finals stage scheduled to hold Sunday 9th May 2021 at the designated centers.
An elated Ekiti FA boss, Bayo Olanlege expressed his happiness on the quality of football displayed by the impressionable lads during the matches played so far.
” The dream is alive. The mission to grow a rich and sustainable football ecosystem in Ekiti state is on the right path.
” The board of Ekiti FA and indeed, Ekiti state football community are grateful to the family of Prof. Akin Oyebode for believing in the development of Ekiti youths,” Olanlege said.
He went on to reiterate his belief in the future of Ekiti football. Adding that well-placed individuals and corporate organizations in the state need to support and help sponsor the activities of the FA, particularly, in the areas of youth and grassroots football development, which he describes as the bedrock of any meaningful football development.
