The Coaches of both teams that will play in the finals of the male category of the Prof. Akin Oyebode U-15 Football competition have spoken of their desire to win the much-coveted competition this Saturday, May 23rd at the Ikole township stadium, Ikole Ekiti.
Speaking with the media of the Ekiti FA on Wednesday, Ado LFC U-15 coach, Femi Kumuyi whose team won 5-4 on penalties in the semi-finals harped on the fact that his team has been preparing for penalties even before their semi-final match against Gbonyin LFC U-15 team and that helped them triumph.
“We have been training for penalties since we got to the knock out stage of the competition and it really helped us in winning against Gbonyin”
Coach Femi further boasted that he is not new to beating Ifelodun / Irepodun teams recalling how he defeated them twice on his way to the finals of the JKF Youth Cup final in 2019 while predicting his team will win 2-1 on Saturday.
Also speaking to the EKSFA media team, Coach Bukola Ogundana of Ifelodun Irepodun U-15 heaped praises on his boys for the job well done in the semi-finals defeating Efon LFC U-15 team 3-0 to book a spot in the finals.
“I must commend the boys for a job well-done because whenever they are on the field they put in everything and it reflected in the result so far in this competition”
Coach Bukky predicted that his team will win 2-0 to emerge as the champions of the tournament.
The Prof Akin Oyebode U-15 Football Competition grand finals will be played at the Ikole township stadium with the third-place matches for both the boys and the girls categories starting 9 am while the epic final kicks off by 1 pm prompt
