Following the announcement by the Nigeria Women Football League that the Nationwide League will commence on April 11, Head Coach, Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens Football Club, Jaiyeola Damilare, has expressed the team’s readiness for the second-tier league.
Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens are among the 22 clubs confirmed by the NWFL for the two-phase tournament holding at the Aguyi Ironsi Sports Complex, Abuja, and the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode from April 11 to 17.
Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens will battle for a promotion ticket to the NWFL Premiership from Ijebu Ode center against 11 other teams from Lagos, Ekiti, Kwara, and the Osun States.
According to Damilare, the team is fully prepared for the forthcoming league having finished second at the recently concluded eight teams Invitational Pre-Season Tournament in Ota, Ogun State.
He revealed that the club will be competing to gain promotion in the 2021 NWFL Nationwide League despite being new, stating that the Chairman of the Club, Ambassador (Dr) Prince Kazeem Eletu-Odibo, is putting everything in place to ensure a successful outing.
“I can assure you that the team is ready for the Nationwide and we are not participating just to announce the club or to make up the numbers but to do well and excel.
” Our target is to gain promotion to the premiership and repay the efforts of our Chairman, Prince Kazeem Eletu who has ensured that the girls get the necessary support. We are ambitious and know the league will be tough, because other teams are also coming to compete” Damilare said.
Meanwhile, Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens Football Club will trade tackles with Dannaz Queens Football Club on Friday, April 2nd at the ‘Soccer Temple’ Agege Stadium in a warm up match ahead of the participation in the Nationwide League.
