Mallam Dikko commended President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that despite assuming office during a challenging period in Nigeria’s history, his experience and strategic decisions have renewed hope in the nation through his Renewed Hope and Shared Prosperity agenda.
“Not everyone can achieve what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has done in such a short time. He has made several bold decisions which, though initially challenging, are now steering the nation toward economic stability and a promising future. His experience has been instrumental in navigating these critical choices,” Dikko said.
He particularly praised the President’s decisive actions in revitalizing Nigerian sports.
“One of his boldest moves was reinstating the National Sports Commission with full enabling powers while scrapping the ministry structure. Mr. President recognized that this was the right step to reposition and elevate Nigerian sports, and today, we are already witnessing the positive outcomes of that decision,” he stated.
Dikko highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to transforming sports into a thriving economic sector.
“He has mandated us to harness the vast potential in sports by shifting focus from mere participation in international competitions—which is largely consumption—to domestic sports development, which fosters production and economic growth. He has backed this with unwavering support, an enabling environment, and an unprecedented budget for sports infrastructure and private sector engagement,” Dikko added.
The NSC chairman emphasized that the President’s leadership is a rare asset to Nigerian sports and the nation.
“It is not often that a sector receives this level of presidential backing. We are leveraging this opportunity to take Nigerian sports to greater heights. History will be kind to Mr. President for his bold and strategic steps in resetting and repositioning the country across all sectors. The results are already evident, and as his foot soldiers, we remain committed to delivering his vision within our sector.”
On behalf of the NSC, Dikko wished President Tinubu a long life, good health, and continued wisdom to make transformative decisions for the nation.
“We extend our heartfelt wishes to Mr. President on his birthday. May he continue to have the strength and courage to lead Nigeria to even greater heights. His leadership is invaluable at this crucial time, and we pray for renewed strength as he pilots the nation forward,” he concluded.
