Enoh’s political journey began in 2015 when he represented the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State in the 8th Assembly of the Senate.

Notably, he also contested as a Governorship candidate under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in his home state during the same year.

Beyond his political endeavors, Enoh has made his mark in the agricultural sector. He owns and manages several farms that focus on both arable and livestock production.

Starting this venture in 2000, Enoch’s farms have since expanded to cultivate around 2000 hectares of land across various areas of Cross River State.

Notable among these are his 150 hectares of planted palms at Agbokim Waterfalls and an expanding 100 hectares at Etara-Ekuri, both located in his native Agbokim Waterfalls.

He has introduced an innovative out-grower scheme within these communities, empowering local small-scale farmers with resources and markets.

Enoh’s commitment to community welfare extends further through his JOE (John Owan Enoh) Foundation.

The foundation’s focus is on providing assistance to individuals in Nigeria living with diabetes, highlighting his dedication to social responsibility.

Stepping into his new role as Minister of Sports Development, Enoh brings a unique perspective, despite lacking direct experience in active sports within the country.

He takes over from Sunday Dare, who previously held the position until the conclusion of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure on May 29, 2023.

Enoh’s appointment opens a new chapter in Nigeria’s sports landscape, where his diverse background in politics, agriculture, and philanthropy is poised to shape the future of sports development in the nation.
