In his press statement, Kida enjoined Nigerians, particularly Muslim faithfuls, to embrace the lessons and virtues of the holy month of Ramadan. He urged everyone to be their brother’s keeper and to exhibit selflessness, especially during these challenging times.

Renowned for his philanthropy, love, and empathy for humanity, Kida emphasized that the holy month is not solely about fasting but also about engaging in sober reflection and spiritual growth.

For over two decades, the Ahmadu Musa Kida Foundation (AMK) has been instrumental in celebrating and empowering youths through sports initiatives. Notably, the foundation’s 3×3 mobile basketball matches have significantly contributed to making Nigeria a formidable force in African and global basketball.

Kida reaffirmed the commitment of the NBBF to the continued growth and expansion of basketball in Nigeria. He assured that efforts are actively being put in place for all domestic basketball activities to commence in earnest.

He acknowledged the current challenges facing Nigerian basketball, particularly the struggle for corporate sponsorship and financial support. However, he expressed optimism that these hurdles would soon be overcome.

“Despite the recent phenomenal achievements of Nigerian basketball on both continental and global stages, the NBBF still faces financial challenges and the necessary support required for the game’s full development in Nigeria,” Kida noted.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that the Federation remains steadfast in its commitment to the growth and development of basketball in Nigeria. He assured that the NBBF would align with the leadership agenda of the National Sports Commission to ensure the sport reaches greater heights.

Engr Kida called on all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to continue praying for the unity, peace, and progress of Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
