Despite a narrow miss at the Super Six, where a small mistake cost them the trophy, Blessing and her team were determined not to end the season without a victory.
They put in the hard work necessary to secure a win in another competition.
“In the Super Six stage, we missed out by a slim mistake. We didn’t want to go home empty-handed this season, so we made sure to win this tournament as a consolation,” she explained.
The consistent success of her team, which has won the title nine times, is no accident. Blessing attributed their achievements to the unwavering support they received.
“The government has been there for us, supporting us financially and motivating us. We also push ourselves to ensure we never miss an opportunity,” she said.
Looking forward, Blessing is confident in her team’s prospects for the next season. “I believe next season, we will be the champions of the women’s league again,” she stated.
Interestingly, Blessing’s role model is from a different sport. “My role model is Mike Tyson, the boxer,” she revealed, showcasing her diverse inspirations.
With her dedication and the support of her team, Blessing Okpe is set for continued success in her football career.
