Lagos Open Women’s singles champion, 19-year-old Pranjala Yadlapalli has told Sports247.ng she’s aiming to break into the top 200 ranking by the end of 2018 to improve her chances of getting qualification spots in the Grand Slams next year.
The F4&F5 Lagos Open winner dominated at the just concluded tournament beating some top Nigerian players on her way to a second ITF singles title.
“I’m so happy to have emerged as champion of the Lagos Open single event. This was as a result of hardwork, focus, dedication and determined,” Pranjala Yadlapalli told Sports247.ng.
“With this competition already dusted, my main aim is to gain more points on the Circuit and break into top 200 ranking at the end of the year 2018.”
“This will improve my chances of playing at the Grand Slams which is the dream of any ambitious Tennis player.”
Pranjala Yadlapalli dispatched past winner Switzerland’s Curry Perrin in straight sets 6-1, 7-6.
