Povia urges African administrators to think on the long term

Head Coach of Ivory Coast men’s Basketball national team, Paolo Povia says African administrators must start to think long term planning if the continent must translate passion to success in the sport.

Povia told Sports247.ng that the continent had huge potentials in Basketball, but expressed the need for players to also improve their game reading skills among other things.

“Basketball is a game that requires long term planning and efficient development,” Paolo Povia stated in chat with Sports247.ng.

“African administrators must start to think long term planning if the continent must translate passion to success in the sport. We need to step up in the way we set out our plans.”

“The future of Basketball in Africa is very bright because of the array of talents at the disposal of the coaches.”

“Players have to redevelop their game in order to get to international standards.”
