Ahead of the 2021 Confederation of African Football Awards, African soccer ruling body has trimmed the number of selected players for the events, Sports247.ng reports.
The football body a few weeks ago released the list of 30 players selected for player award and another 20 players for the young players of the year award.
Both lists had Super Eagles and FC Nantes winger Moses Simon for Player of the Year award while former Golden Eaglets midfielder Akinkunmi Amoo was listed among the Young player of the Year.
CAF in the early hours of Monday released the list of 10 players without Simon for the POTY award and five players without Amoo for the young player’s award.
The winners of each category will be decided by a voting panel made up of CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, Head Coaches & Captains of Member Associations and clubs involved in the group stage of the Interclub competitions for the 2021/22 season.
