A polo championship aimed at contributing to the task of ensuring the return of peace in Plateau State has commenced in the capital city, Jos.
Sports247.ng learnt that the initiative aims to mobilize and involve the youths to compete and share in an atmosphere of mutuality.
Apart from ensuring promotion and sustenance of peace in the state, the five-days competition also aims to discover new stars of the sports.
It has participants drawn from teams across Nigeria, with the rallying point at Hassan Katsina Polo field in Jos.
A statement issued by Group Corporate Communications/Compliance Advisor of the sponsors, NASCO Group Nigeria, Haroun Audu, disclosed further that the event is aimed at more than sports.
Audu further stated that the competition will help to amplify the values of love and togetherness, while also bringing out the best of humanity and values of a shared community, particularly among young people.
The statement added: “Over the past four decades, NASCO Group has consistently sponsored and supported the game of Polo in Nigeria.”
