The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will play four more friendly matches in their second phase of preparations for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland.
Paul Aigbogun’s charges played a 3-3 draw against German Bundesliga side Freiburg in their first warm-up match in Germany and are billed to face Saudi Arabia in Austria on May 5 followed by a friendly encounter with the youth team of TSG Hoffenheim on May 7/8.
The U20 team will also slug it out against Austrian Bundesliga club Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday, May 14, while their final test will be against Red Bull Leipzig on Saturday, May 17.
Nigeria are hoping to win their first U20 World Cup after finishing as runners-up in 1989 and 2005. They also got a bronze medal in Old Soviet Union (USSR) when they defeated the host country on penalties in 1985.
The Flying Eagles have been grouped alongside Qatar, Ukraine and United States in Group D of the tournament which starts on May 23.
