Nigerian midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has declared that playing at the World Cup was a dream come true.
The Leicester man who played in every match for the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia said ‘every player wants to represent his country at the World Cup. For me it is a plus to my career, it was amazing representing the country and a great experience’.
Speaking on the Argentina game which Nigeria lost 2-1 but could have qualified for the World Cup’s round of 16 stage if they had won, Ndidi said it was really painful.
‘it was the same feeling as against Algeria at the AFCON, it was really painful. The winning goal came late but we are a young team but as a young team, we don’t have excuse, we should focus, believe and take opportunities’.
The holding midfielder played at the World Cup for the first in 2018 and will be hoping for another World Cup appearance at Qatar 2022 if the Super Eagles qualify for the tournament.
