One of the influential Plateau United players in the squad who pleaded anonymity confirmed the story to brila.net’s Seyi Alao and said that there’s no such agreement in the players’ contract, which means they are not ready to accept the decision but stressed the players must do more to turn the fortune of the Club around.
“Yea, that is what our general manager said ( on half-salary ) after meeting yesterday and there are no such stipulations in our contract,” he told brila.net
When asked whether the players will kick against the position of the Club, The player in his word said :
“We are waiting for our salary at the end month before we can decide on what to do, Surely we have to fight against such treatment and we also must improve on the part to turn things around”. He concluded.
Plateau United secured the services of Coach Abdul Maikaba and experienced players like Sikiru Olatunbosun, Bernard Ovoke, Godwin Obaje, Gabriel Wassa to beef up the squad but they are yet to hit the expected height so far.
