Speaking during the award presentation, Michael Oyewole, the Publicity Secretary of NANS Zone C and a student of the University of Ilorin, lauded Mutla’s leadership in the sports fraternity. Oyewole highlighted the organization’s mission to advocate for affordable education, fight campus vices, and celebrate individuals making significant societal contributions.

He expressed the students’ eagerness to collaborate with Plateau United FC and urged Mutla to remain steadfast in his efforts to restore the team to its former glory, despite challenges faced in the first round of the NPFL 2025 season.

The NANS delegation, which included Omotosho Richard of Plateau State Polytechnic, Emmanuel Isaac of Nasarawa State University, and others, emphasized the need for stronger partnerships between NANS and Plateau United FC.

In his response, Habila Mutla expressed gratitude to God for his position and thanked NANS for recognizing his efforts. He called for renewed commitment to positive student activism, particularly in addressing challenges in Nigeria’s educational sector, including inadequate funding, security issues, and the rising cost of goods and services.

The event culminated in a symbolic award presentation and a group photograph with Plateau United FC management and NANS Zone C executives, signifying a shared commitment to improving both sports and education in Nigeria.

Mutla reassured fans and stakeholders of ongoing efforts to enhance the team’s performance. Plateau United is set to face Rivers United on Sunday, January 26, in Jos, marking Match Day 20 of the NPFL season.
