The General Manager of Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL side, Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Pius Henwan has warned players of the club that indiscipline under any guise in the team will not be tolerated.
Henwan gave the warning while introducing the newly appointed Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilichukwu, and his assistants, Abdulazeez Hamza Abara to both the old and new players at the Jos international stadium.
He stressed that management has institutionalized discipline as one of the key elements to success and directed the coach not to shy away from sanctioning any player indulged in any act of indiscipline.
” We are here for business this season and any player who is not ready to work for the collective aspirations of the club will be shown the way out.
” I want you to put your acts together and win the league for the government and people of the state. The second or third position is not good enough for the team. We deserve the league title, no more, no less.
The General Manager assured the new Technical Adviser that management will give him all the necessary support to ensure that discipline is maintained at all times in the team and any player who is not ready to abide by the club’s code of conduct Will have themselves to blame.
In order to march words with action, the General Manager fined all the old players twenty thousand naira each for failing to appear in the club’s training kits while those who absent themselves from training without permission were fined fifty thousand naira each.
The soccer administrator warned that all acts of indiscipline by players shall be met with appropriate sanctions adding that, that’s is the surest way the team can achieve its set objectives this season.
