Twenty seventeen Nigeria Professional Football League Champions, Plateau United Football Club of Jos has unveiled its new kits and new players ahead of the new season which kicks off Sunday.
Performing the brief and colourful ceremony which took place at the club house in jos, Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong said his administration will not relent in its efforts to provide the enabling environment for sports to thrive.
Lalong who is also the chairman northern governor’s forum pointed out that the Rescue Administration in the state under his leadership has initiated a development plan aimed at moving the state to greater in all sphere of human endeavour including sports.
He commended the management of the club led by Pius Henwan for their foresight in seeking for partnership with Kayspor stressing that it will boost the revenue base of the club.
He urged the club teeming fans to patronize the new kits in order to complement government warning that it is not going to be business as usual.
General Manager of the club, Pius Henwan in an address disclosed that the two years contract with Kayspor which is multidimensional will go a long way to boost the revenue base of the club and the state.
He appealed to the supporters of the club to come out en mass to cheer the team to victory against their opponents, Lobi Stars of Makurdi noting that the team will compete for the leqgue title this season.
The club newly acquired players which include prominent names such as Mustapha Ibrahim, Mike Ibeh, Sunday Anthony, Emeka Nnaji and Andrew Ikefe will also at the occasion which also attracted members of the supporters club.
Plateau United will begin their quest for honours in the 2019/2020 NPFL season with a North Central derby against Lobi stars of Makurdi at the new Jos Stadium.
