Plateau united General manager, Habila Hosea Mutla arrived the club’s training base as sponsor of Plateau United football club Intra- team Football Championship , with teams set to compete for the sole prize .
Broken into teams A and led by Captain Golbe Elisha , team B with midfielder Benjamin Turba as captain , while Daniel Itodo pilots affairs in group C as captain.
Game one pitted team A vs Team B , while team C Is placed on a bye.
In the ensuing encounter, Team A’s Mancha Sabbath benefitted from a defensive lapse to net the only goal and hand Team A a decisive one nil victory over Team B.
In game 2 , pitting Team C vs Team A, goals from Saidu Salisu and Bernard Mundi nailed Team A to a two-nil defeat that opens way for Saturdays game 3 where team B would have a chance to redemption against Team C who now lead the pack with superior goal difference of 2 .
Game 3 comes up on Saturday September 23 by 7 in the morning with the finals coming up right after game 3 .
At the culmination of the championship, eventual winners would claim a hundred thousand Naira (#100,000)cash prize.
The Most Valuable player takes home five thousand naira(#5000) as reward while the highest goal scorer claims another five thousand naira(#5000) for his efforts.
Organizers say the idea is to ensure that players stay competitive ahead of the league opener .
