Plateau United coach, Abdu Maikaba, has called out the ruling body of the Nigerian league not to throw caution to the wind as Nigerians prepare their minds to return to football.
As the clubs await the decision of the LMC for the continuation of the Nigerian League the Plateau gaffer wants the league organizers to consider the lives of all involved.
In a chat with the media, Maikaba said the clubs have been waiting for the decision but warned that caution should be taken in every decision the organizers will be making in the coming days.
In his words, “We are waiting for the LMC, we will abide by their decision, however, we should be very careful and ensure we have flattened the covid19 curve before returning football.
“If you observe the numbers of cases in the country is on the rise, we should be very careful not to rush; let’s make sure we have taken care of the Covid-19 before coming back to football,” he said.
It’s more than two months now that footballing actions across the world were stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic. Though little has been achieved so far medically actions have started resuming as Germany is among those who lead the way.
