The Plateau State Referees Council has sacked its coach, Abdulganiyu Abdullahi after losing his 7th match in charge today.
Coach Abdulganiyu today led his team captained by NPFL referee Pam Jimmy to a 2-1 loss to the Plateau All-Stars team.
Plateau All-Stars opened scoring in the 20th minute when former Plateau United and Heartland player, Kelechi Okoye beat the on-rushing goalkeeper of Plateau Referees Council with a delightful chip.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Plateau All-Stars.
On resumption of the second half, Plateau All Stars former Mighty Jets and ITF player, Adam Maikudi scored the second goal after dispossessing the ball from Shola Akanji who felt he was infringed upon and was waiting for the Referee’s whistle to no avail.
Coach Abdulganiyu rang some changes in the second half when he brought out Alfred Saiki, Abdulmumini Abdulraham, Pam Jimmy, Tanimu Mathew, and Jefferson Jerry.
One of the substitutes, Salisu Abubakar scored Plateau Referees Council’s goal to make the score line respectable.
The match was organized by the new state EXCO led by the Chairman, Joshua Gotom to usher in the new EXCO.
Reacting after the match, Joshua Gotom alongside the Secretary, Noel Bancir expressed their disappointment with Coach Abdulganiyu and after a brief meeting announced his sack and immediately appointed Tony Ejimbe on interim bases as the Council searches for a permanent replacement.
Plateau Referees Council is already planning to play the Sports Writers Association on Nigeria (SWAN), Plateau State Chapter, and the coaches and staff of Mees Palace Football Academy soon.
Some of the All-Stars team players include Ossai Manu, Atto Belle, Garba Uche, Danladi Ado, Francis Oboh, and Muazu Jesus.
