Plateau Peacocks continued their push to reclaim their lead on the league table as they easily won their game at the Prudent Energy Handball League phase 2 at the Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba, Lagos.
The defending champion effectively put to sword Desert Queens 34-18 to come within one point behind league leader Safety Babes who defeated Seasider Babes 22-17.
Other results in the female category saw Edo Dynamos digging deep to defeat Kada Queens 27-26 while Owena Queen who had their games walked over on match day one, were soundly defeated by Defender Babes 30-19 while Imo Grasshoppers completely destroyed neighbours Abia Valliants 36-10 in what many will call an Oriental Derby.
In the men category, Safety Shooters comfortably defeated Kada Stars 25-15 while Lagos Seasiders continued strongly in the league as they defeated De Defenders 37-29 in front of their home fans.
Kano Pillars defeated Bornu Spiders 26-18 to stay as leader of the league log while defending champion Niger United victoriously outshined Bornu Spiders 34-29.
COAS Shooters of the Nigeria Army shot down Owena Queens with 28-23 victory while Plateau Vipers struggled to defeat a resilient Prison Key Boys side 20-17.
Meanwhile, defending champion in the Female league of the Prudent Energy Handball League defeated Ghana Police 23-18. The match will have not effect on the league table as Ghana Police are participating on a non scoring basis
