The Pillar of Sports in Nigeria, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike has pledged to continue promoting sports and all other activities that will further strengthen the unity among the Igbos in the state.
While speaking to journalists after the final of this year’s Igbo Traders Football Association (ITFA) Unity Cup competition at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex on Sunday, Chief Ejidike commended the participants for their conduct, which he described as satisfactory.
The competition was sponsored by Chief Ejidike.
Planners FC defeated Super Samba FC 4-0 to lift the trophy donated by Kwara State Football Association.
Orbitt FC also won the third place match after beating Super United 2-0.
11 clubs participated in the competition, which was introduced to further strengthen the relationship between the Igbos in Kwara state.
Among the dignitaries that graced the final are the sponsor, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, the Director of Sports, Mallam Tunde Kazeem, the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Musa, the President of the Kwara Igbo Traders Association (KWAITA), Sir Emmenuel Ezezuoe, who was the Father of the Day, among others.
Also at the final are all the Board of Trustees and members of Igbo Traders Football Association (ITFA), members of Igbo Community Association (ICA), sports lovers in the state and members of the participating clubs.
