Nigeria’s foremost Internet Protocol Television ( IPTV) has reiterated its commitments to unlimited fun and enjoyment for its teeming Nigerian sports lovers with the provision of over dedicated 70 live sports channels.
Pipul TV is a next-generation, wholly Nigerian-owned national information, entertainment, and education television and media communications network established to provide premium, high-quality media content.
In a recent chat with the media, Chief Executive Officer of Pipul Communications Limited, Benjamin Okoroafor, described Pipul TV as more than just a TV network.
” Pipul TV is more of a movement than a project. The underlying goal is to actively contribute to our collective national consciousness and enlightenment. By providing unfettered access to premium quality content, information and entertainment we believe we can enable the Nigerian masses to be alive to their rights, responsibilities, potentials and expectations,” he explained.
” Pipul TV offers the most fantastic television and video streaming content in Nigeria and available worldwide. Access within Nigeria is data-cost-free, but international access would require a pre-existing Internet bundle. So the service is more Nigerian-centric, concentrated on packages that appeal to the average and specially-selected high-level Nigerian taste. We provide access to local and international live sports events, including live football games from Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas,” he quipped.
As the title sponsor of the NLO, the media network recently covered some of the Division One games in three selected centers in Ikenne, Jos, and Port-Harcourt.
He described it as a bitter-sweet experience. Saying, ” it proved more challenging than expected. The saying “in like a lion out like a lamb” aptly described that effort. We started out believing it would be a piece of cake, but emergent technical and logistical challenges quickly humbled us. It was a steep learning curve for us, however, and highlighted all the areas we needed radical overhaul and improvement.
” We were able to cover the games along with live commentaries. We expect to have pre, mid and post-match analysis and live studio segments next time around. Additionally, we were excited to establish that our transmission and production approach worked like a charm. We had no need for expensive traditional broadcast and production setups, OB vans and all.
” All transmission was done via the regular SIM-access network and was more reliable and efficient than anticipated. We have a framework to build on now that we expect to expand nationwide and easily cover all future sports engagements. We expect to consolidate on this experience within the coming months as we strive towards establishing a world-class live sports production platform.
” Pipul TV has come to stay for the betterment of the Nigerian masses. We need all Nigerians to come together and support this unique, homegrown initiative. That is the only way we can ensure that Nigeria can float a veritable TV network that we all can be proud of, ” Okoroafor added conclusively.
