Pinnick, Ikpeba, Kanu, Adepoju All Pay Tribute To Maradona

NFF President Amaju Pinnick as well as ex Nigerian international Victor Ikpeba, Kanu Nwankwo, and Mutiu Adepoju have all pay tribute to the Legendary Former Argentine Attacker and Coach Diego Armando Maradona who passed away today at the age of 60.

The former Barcelona and Napoli attacker died this morning in his hometown in Tigre following a Cardio-Respiratory arrest.

The Argentine Legend had been suffering from serious health issues and earlier this month, he had emergency surgery on his brain, prompting him to stay in the hospital for a week before he was discharged.

He was a key player in Argentina’s World Cup Success in 1986 as well as also guiding his National team to the World Cup final in 1990 which they narrowly lost to West Germany.

Maradona was also in Argentina’s team that defeated Nigeria 2-1 at the 1994 Fifa world cup held in the USA. He was also the coach of the Argentine National team in 2010 where they reached the Quarter Finals of the World Cup held in South Africa before being knocked out by Germany.

Amaju Pinnick, Adepoju, Kanu, and Ikpeba all took to pay tribute to the Legendary Football Icon.

Victor Ikpeba twitted saying “Repose en Paix Maradona”.

Kanu also tweeted saying “R.I.P Diego Armando Maradona, your memory will live on forever. #GOAT #Football #argentina #Legend @fifaworldcup #worldcup #best #memories”.

Mutiu Adepoju twitted as well saying “Legends don’t die, They only take a rest. #RipMaradona”.
