After her team’s Goalless draw (0-0) against Sunshine Queens on Wednesday (yesterday), Captain of Edo Queens, Glory Ogbonna has admitted that she and her teammates are satisfied with a point from the match week 4 encounter.
Edo Queens away from home in their match week 4 fixture of the 2020/2021 NWFL season held Sunshine Queens to a barren draw on Wednesday, ensuring both sides went away from the encounter with a point apiece.
Speaking with Sports247, the Amazing Captain spoke about her satisfaction of earning a point away from home, admitting the difficulty of gaining a point in an away fixture. She also stated that she and her teammates now look forward to winning their next game, as they aim for the top, as well as qualify for the CAF Championship, come the end of the league season.
“Our game yesterday was a great game. We matched out with all our hearts. We played a great game, as we tried to attack and defend at the same time. It was a good one and a great point for us because it’s not easy to go away and get a draw. We are really happy with the point”.
“But nevertheless, we are still working, because there are many more games to play. We know our target this season, which is the CAF Championship. We are third on the log, but we are still fighting to be on top of the log at the end of the season, which I know with dedication, hard work, and focus, we would get there”.
“So we are not relaxing, the Joy of yesterday is over, we are back to business again and preparing for our next game. So every game, we are taking it one after the other. It’s all about football, when you plan well, you get a good result, so we are prepared to meet up our target which is the CAF Championship”, she added.
With the draw yesterday, Edo Queens are now third on the NWFL table, while Sunshine Queens are 9th on the Log.
