Odion Ighalo who came on as a late substitution for Anthonio Martial in Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night has made history as first Nigerian international to play for the Red Devils.
Ighalo almost capped his debut with a goal. He had his lucky moment on his first touch but missed. Despite the miss, Odion fans who watched the match on television back home in Lagos went agog with celebration immediately he had his first touch. The former Super Eagles forward is on a six-month deal from Shanghai Shenhua.
