The Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria has set up a three-man committee to wade into the contentious issues bedeviling the elections into the Anambra and Delta State FA.
According to a message signed by the PFAN’s General Secretary, Emmanuel Babayaro, MON, the three-man committee is headed by Chief Rumson Victor Baribote, and with Austin Popo and Barrister Audu Muhammed Lawal as other members.
The committee which was set up by PFAN President Tijani Babangida has the mandate to thoroughly investigate all issues underlying in the Anambra and Delta FA elections through extensive consultations and interactions. It has 2 weeks to submit its report.
The message reiterates Babangida’s confidence in the committee. Adding that their report will give shape and further propel the Union’s stand on the matters.
According to him, the PFAN remains committed to its sacrosanct mandate of protecting the rights and privileges of its members, as enshrined in the law while admonishing the committee members to eschew any and all bipartisan sentiments in the discharge of their mandate.
