Nigeria’s female basketball national team, D’Tigress assistant coach, Peter Ahmedu is thinking of becoming the next man in charge of the squad, and says he would give it his best shot.
Ahmedu told sports247.ng that he is well motivated to consider putting himself forward and throwing in his hat for the opportunity to take over as D’Tigress’ head coach in the near future.
He is still fresh from the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Tenerife, Spain, where where he was part of the crew that helped Nigeria stun the watching globe by winning three matches and reaching the quarter-finals for the first time by an African team.
Consequently, Ahmedu, who is one of Nigeria’s most successful women basketball club coaches in the domestic league, said he will embark on a refresher course to improve his knowledge of the job.
“I want to prepare himself for any future openings in the senior women team, but I won’t mind starting with any of the junior national teams,” Ahmedu submitted.
