Coach of Bethel Fc, Adebunmi Babajide has stated that taking Penalties was also one of the football strategies he trained his players with.
Bethel Fc defeated Dannaz Fc 5-3 on Penalties after both sides were leveled at 2-2 in fulltime, to set up a final against Box2Box Fc tomorrow at the Agege Stadium in Lagos State.
In an interview with Sports247, the Bethel Fc coach admitted that Penalties was part of the football strategies he taught his side, considering the fact that they were pecked back to 2-2 with just five minutes of normal time remaining in the encounter despite going 2-0 ahead against Dannaz Fc in the Semifinals.
“What was running in my mind is that I know that there is no way we can score, because we had five minutes left when they equalized the second goal, so I started planning for Penalties”.
“Penalties are also part of the strategy. Once you go for a competition or a tournament, you must work that you must play draw, you must play penalties because you are not the one that owns the game,” he said.
He also said his team aims for revenge against Box2Box Fc by defeating them and winning the 2020 Legend Cup tournament.
“We must revenge against Box2Box Fc, we are winning the game with all determination”, he concluded.
