Peace Cup 2025: Lagos’ Biggest Grassroots Tournament Returns With Exciting Updates

The highly anticipated 5th edition of the Peace Cup is set to kick off, bringing together top grassroots football talent in Lagos for another thrilling competition.

With a growing reputation as one of the most competitive and well-organized tournaments in the region, this year’s edition promises to be bigger and better.

The official draws will take place on May 25, 2025, while the tournament kicks off on June 1, 2025, at Lemmy Field, Akinola Aboru, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State.

This edition will feature 16 teams competing in an 8-aside format, with each matchup played over two legs, where the winner advances based on aggregate scores.

The tournament will progress straight to the quarterfinals, increasing the stakes and intensity of each match.

Officials & Participation

To ensure fair play and high standards, NPFL referees have been exclusively assigned to officiate the matches. The participation fee for teams is ₦50,000, and only 16 slots are available, making it a highly competitive entry process.

Prizes & Rewards

  • 1st Prize: ₦500,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₦300,000
  • All four semifinalists will receive a set of jerseys each.
  • Man of the Match Award: ₦5,000 per game.

Tournament Coordinator Dr. Kolade Kolapo emphasized that Peace Cup 2025 will surpass previous editions in quality and excitement, with club owners, scouts, and football agents expected to attend in search of emerging talent.
