The French giants have reportedly made an inquiry about the Nigerian marksman.
Having scored 19 goals already for Genk this season, Paul Onuachu is on track to record his best-ever season in senior football.
More impressively for the 26-year-old, all of his 19 goals have come from as many matches in the Belgian Pro League where he is currently the top scorer.
His brilliant performances have not gone unnoticed by bigger clubs and it would be an uphill task for Genk to keep hold of their star player for much longer.
According to Foot Mercato, Lyon have Onuachu in their sights with a view of signing him in the summer.
The current Ligue 1 leaders recently brought in Algerian striker, Islam Slimani on loan till the end of the season as a short-term fix to replace Moussa Dembele who joined Atletico Madrid.
Lyon want Onuachu for the long-term and are expected to make a formal offer for him in the summer transfer window.
The former Midtjylland man has a contract with Genk until June 2024. The Blue-White will only entertain offers north of €15m for their prized asset.
