The Chairman of the Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ASSDC), Patrick Estate Onyedum, has praised Chief Prof. Poly Emenike, the Managing Director/CEO of Neros Pharmaceuticals Ltd, for his unwavering support in fostering football and sports development in Anambra State.
In a letter dated February 24, 2025, titled “A Note of Appreciation,” Onyedum expressed gratitude on behalf of the ASSDC and the football community, acknowledging Emenike’s dedication to the growth of football in the state.
“The 19th edition of the Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup is a testament to your passion for sports development and human capital growth through football,” the letter read.
“We deeply appreciate your generosity and philanthropic efforts and pray for God’s continued blessings, good health, and protection as you advance football in Anambra.”
Chief Prof. Poly Emenike has single-handedly sponsored the Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup since 2006, making it one of the most rewarding state-level football tournaments in Nigeria.
The 2025 edition, marking its 19th year, saw Edel FC claim victory over defending champions Solution FC, winning 2-0 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation time.
The competition remains highly rewarding, with the champion receiving ₦2 million, the runners-up ₦1 million, the third-place team ₦500,000, and the fourth-place side taking home a ₦100,000 consolation prize.
