Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), inaugurated a state-of-the-art stadium and an Olympic-standard 50-meter swimming pool at Peaceville International Academy, situated within the Redemption City of God, Ogun State.
Accompanied by his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, and senior RCCG leaders—including Pastor Joseph Obayemi (RCCG National Overseer) and Pastor Sunday Akande—Pastor Adeboye led the unveiling ceremony.
Also present were the management team of Peaceville International Academy, headed by Dolapo Fatoki, along with board members such as Leke Adeoye, Olugbenga Omojola, Ayoola Jolayemi, Noah Osato, and Mrs. Busola Ogunsiji.
Reflecting on his university days, Pastor Adeboye noted the lack of such high-quality sports facilities in the past. “Back then, we didn’t have access to well-maintained stadiums or a conducive environment for sports.
Today, by God’s grace, these facilities are available at a secondary school, a testament to His favor,” he remarked.
He prayed for those who contributed to the project and expressed his aspiration for the academy to gain global recognition.
In her address, Pastor Folu Adeboye, founder of the institution, described the school as a divine legacy made possible through God’s support. She also acknowledged her husband’s unwavering encouragement in bringing the vision to life and emphasized the role of sports in nurturing God-fearing champions.
The ceremony also included a novelty football match in celebration of Pastor Adeboye’s 83rd birthday, with the cleric performing the ceremonial kick-off. Redemption City FC dominated the game, securing a 4-0 victory over Region 1 FC.
Dolapo Fatoki, Head of School, assured that the new facilities would be utilized effectively to promote students’ physical well-being and position the academy as a leading center for sports development in Ogun State and across Nigeria.
