Expressions of excitement marked the responses of invited participants to this year’s edition of the NPFL/LaLiga Coaching Seminar with many saying they are eager to learn new methods to improve their knowledge base.
The workshop starts on Tuesday, February 4 and will end on the 7th with an opening ceremony at the Media Center of the MKO Abiola in Abuja. It will mark the start of events of the 4th edition of the NPFL/LaLiga U15 tournament for teams of the 20 clubs of the Professional Football League (NPFL) and other invitees.
This year’s workshop will as in the past three editions, be facilitated by Coaching Instructors from LaLiga, this time, Diego Gutierrez Ramos, and Enrique Brisach Felipe.
Gabriel Ezema of Rangers International junior team has attended the past three editions and said he has acquired a great depth of football knowledge presented in various football concepts from a Spanish point of view.
‘For this year’s edition, I expect a richer and more advanced experience of those concepts and an interactive review of other participants’ experience in their various teams in the last year’
Another participant, Bunmi Haruna, an assistant coach with the National U-17 team said the annual seminar is a chance for him to keep in touch with the latest trends in coaching.
‘This seminar is usually the most exciting part of the year for me as it gives me the chance to keep up with the latest coaching trends, some of us can not afford to go for coaching courses in Europe for now, so it’s great that the NPFL and LaLiga has brought Europe to us in Nigeria’
The Coaching seminar which serves as a precursor to the main U-15 Promises tournament has seen almost 300 youth coaches trained since its inception in 2017.
