Following the women’s script , the Nigeria men’s finished 7th in heat 1 of men’s 4x100m as well as posting their season’s best as the quartet of: Favour Ashe, Kanyinsola Ajayi, Alaba Akintola and Usheoritse Itsekiri gave it their all in the race to return 38.20s.
South Africa grabbed an automatic spot in the final, finishing 2nd in an SB of 37.94s, with USA winning the race in 37.47s.
This made it the third Nigeria relay team that failed to make it to the final after the mixed doubles crashed earlier at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
