Para-soccer Federation of Nigeria has joined the battle of polio by unfolding plans to stage a competition to coincide with events marking this year’s day of awareness against further spread of the ailment.
Making this known in a chat with sports247.ng, secretary general of the federation, Emmanuel Oludukiya said they are glad to join the fight against eradicating polio in the country by organising a competition.
Oludukiya said the para-scoccer competition will hold alongside other activities for the 2018 World Anti Polio Week, which is in furtherance of efforts by health workers and administrators to throw more awareness about the deadly child mortality disease.
He expatiated: “Our aim as a federation is to tell the world, Nigerians in particular, how to prevent cases of polio from affecting their children, family members and neighbours.
“We also aim to tell every polio survivor that they can still contribute to normal activities and development of the society in which they live.”
