Omolara Odebode, the captain of Papa Soccer Academy, shares her passion for football and the hurdles she’s overcome to pursue her dreams.
“Since I was a child, I dreamt of becoming a professional footballer, representing my country on the national team. I’m actively working towards it. My football journey has been filled with challenges. From providing the necessary gear like boots, and jerseys, to facing skepticism from my family, the road has been tough. But we pray for divine support to lift us higher in this football journey.”
Omolara Odebode encourages other young girls aspiring to play football, emphasizing the joy that comes after hard work.
“I’d advise other young girls who dream of playing football that it’s a beautiful game. Yes, we face difficulties, but the joy of this sport is immense. If you’re willing to endure, stay disciplined, and be patient, the rewards are tremendous. Football is a sweet journey.”
She looks up to football stars like James of Chelsea and Sam Kerr, following their training and matches closely. Additionally, her manager, Aisha Yusuf Aromire, serves as an inspiration.
