On Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, the Oyo State Football Association, led by HRM Oba James Odeniran, the Alakinyele of Akinyele, unveiled the official logo for the 2024 Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde Under-20 Football League.
The ceremony, held in Ibadan, marked a significant collaboration between the association and Peculiar Ultimate, the league’s main sponsor.
Highlighting the motivation behind this sponsorship, Mr. Lekan Adeleke, representing Peculiar Ultimate’s Chairman, emphasized the alignment with Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for youth development.
“We’re incredibly proud to be associated with Governor Seyi Makinde for this laudable initiative. His incredible performances in the state have endeared us to sponsor this league. We wish to leverage on his vision and create a platform for the youths to thrive. We look to set ourselves up for a strong and prosperous future in Oyo State,” said Adeleke.
Adeleke described the newly unveiled logo as a symbol of youthful energy and strength, reflecting the bold and forward-looking aspirations of Oyo State under Governor Makinde’s leadership. He underscored the league’s potential to discover and nurture young talents.
Mrs. Wasilat Adegoke, Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, praised the efforts of Oyo FA and Peculiar Ultimate, affirming that this initiative aligns seamlessly with Governor Makinde’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment.
“We sincerely appreciate Peculiar Ultimate for evolving this idea, and it is a testament to their impactful drive in unearthing talents,” she said.
HRM Oba James Odeniran, Chairman of Oyo State Football Association, expressed his gratitude to Governor Makinde for his dedication to youth development. He acknowledged Peculiar Ultimate’s previous contributions to Nigerian football, highlighting their collaboration with other state associations and clubs.
“The Executive Governor of Oyo State has been a pillar for youth progress, and Peculiar Ultimate’s support will further our shared goals,” he noted.
The league promises significant rewards, with cash prizes for the top three teams and additional awards for outstanding individual performers.
Registration is open from November 19th to 26th, 2024, and the competition aims to offer young talents a platform to shine and grow.
