Oyo state commissioner for youth and sports, Mr Seun Fakorede has visited Nysc permanent orientation camp in Iseyin for a facility inspection tour.
The commissioner’s first visit is to examine the state of facilities at the orientation camp.
Places visited included hostels, kitchen and toilets.
Conducting the commissioner through the facilities, the NYSC state coordinator in Oyo state, Mrs Eniola Ambekemo commended the new commissioner for his intentions at giving the best to the youths.
Mrs Ambekemo while highlighting ultramodern hall as one of the major needs for youth corps members posted to the state solicited the state government’s support in acquiring a befitting hall.
Speaking on the essence of the first visit and facility tour at NYSC orientation course, the youth and sports commissioner Mr Fakorede noted that he wanted to observe the facilities to fashion out a way of optimizing it.
“It is imperative for me to observe the facilities and to know how to optimize it.
We want to know what is working so we can definitely add to it. With my observation, the facilities are not bad though, I still feel there is a lot to do to make it more conducive for corps members” Fakorede said.
Mr Fakorede gave assurance that the government would work with Nysc state coordinator to ensure that the orientation camp got a facelift.
He also urged youth corps members to always strive to contribute their quota to national development during the service year.
