Former D’Tigers captain Olumide Oyedeji has hailed D’Tigress’ commitment and work ethic despite falling to 71-40 defeat to USA on Friday.
The Nigerian girls saw their giant killing run in the FIBA World Championship come to an end following the loss to their far more superior opponents in the quarter finals.
Oyedeji was pleased with the way D’Tigress competed against the Yankees.
He said to Sports247.ng: “The girls more than competed today against the best team in the world. They kept them frustrated for long periods.”
“Their commitment to the game and their discipline was unbelievable but we just didn’t find the final quality in the last two quarters.”
“Kudos to the team for giving USA a great fight. They tried their best and should be applauded for the ground breaking feat.”
