The Owerri six team tournament organized by Heartland FC to asses the talents of some young players in town has ended with excitement.
The tournament which football lovers in the city trooped out in their numbers to be entertained showed there are budding talents in the state.
Speaking to Heartland Media the General Manager of the team Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi said the aim he gave the directives to put the tournament together was achieved at the end of day.
He noted that few number of young talented players have been exposed through it, adding that it is left for the club’s technical crew to take it up from there to do the needful.
Chief Ifeanyi commended Heartland’s technical adviser Fidelis Illechukwu for leading his team to conclude the competition without injuries or any casualty from the participating teams and thanked them for a successful end to the tournament.
In his reaction at the end of the competition the (TA) Fidelis Illechukwu expressed delight over the seriousness the participating teams and their players exhibited as the tournament lasted and commended them for Honouring the invitation to participate in the tournament.
Coach Illechukwu maintained that he had spotted few young players from the tournament which he is sure can break into any professional league side if guided properly going forward.
He said himself and his technical crew had penciled down about 5 or 6 of them that would be given opportunity in the near future and extolled Owerri fans for making the competition a worthwhile.
Amanda FC from Orlu emerged champions at the end of a round robin clash among the teams, the Orlu side came out tops after beating Pakat FC in their final game of the tournament.
