Owena Queens of Akure coach, Tommy Olalude has blamed fatigue for his team’s loss to Edo Dynamos of Benin City at the National Handball League in Lagos.
Olalude said his players were tired, following their exertions so far during the competition at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Hall, Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos.
The coach was full of lamentations, after Edo Dynamos defeated his side 30-22 in the opening fixture of Day Six in the women event.
The Akure-based side, who are laced with many a youthful players, could not match the Edo girls, featuring experienced players.
Olalude said: “Our defeat was as a result of fatigue because we played a match just a day before.
“The girls need to be encouraged and have to rest well so that they can recover fully for their next game.
“In this championship, we did not have our best, as many of them are students, either sitting for their exams or doing one thing or the other.”
