Former Golden Eaglets invitee, Ovie Ejaria has relocated to Reading, in his bid to get a quickfire revival of his fledgling career, but it is another loan deal from Liverpool.
Sports247.ng reports that Ejaria, who had initially been on loan for the first half of this season at Glasgow Rangers of Scotland moved with high hopes to Reading on Monday.
The 21-year-old midfielder went for his medical at Reading ahead of a deal that will keep him at Hope Akpan’s former club for the rest of the season.
Despite helping Rangers qualify for the group stage of the Europa League near the end of last year, Ejaria had to return to Liverpool in December.
Rather than get a full transfer from Liverpool, though, Ejaria is on his third loan deal since his arrival at Anfield in the summer of 2014.
Having spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland, Ejaria, who once played for Arsenal’s youth teams and has eight appearances for Liverpool’s first team, joins Sone Aluko and Tiago Ilori at Reading.
A deal is done and Ejaria will be the first of many loan deals by Reading, as they are trying to give their new boss Jose Gomes a better team.
Ejaria, who signed a long term deal at Liverpool in the summer, will have to impress on loan if he wants to get anywhere near the first team, as he got only a single goal in 14 Scottish Premiership games with Rangers.
He previously spent six months on loan at Sunderland from January to June 2018, scoring once in 11 games.
