The 2021 edition of the Lagos State Ram Lovers Association ‘ Governor’s Cup’ hit off on Sunday as hundreds of Nigerians trooped into the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos to watch epic charging battles between rams of various categories in the state.
The event which has its National as well as state arms saw the Lagos State arm begin their battle on Sunday 8th August at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium.
Chairman of the association, Adebayo Adedeji popularly called ‘Argentina’ told Sports247 how the competition runs and what winners stand to gain at the end of the competition.
“We send out forms based on categories as we have category A-H. People register their Rams according to the different categories based on the amount the organizers tag on the Ram as the prices vary from ten thousand naira for category A to five thousand naira for category H,” Adebayo said.
“The winning price we intend to give out varies from the grand prize of a car to other prizes such as Refrigerators, Television sets, Sound Systems, Generators and so on especially for those who finish in the top 3.
The event also saw a high number of people struggling to enter the gate to witness the event despite it being a paid ticket event and the chairman explained the popularity of the event.
“I can be proud to say that after football currently, it’s Ram charging. It serves as a huge avenue for people to have fun as there is so much excitement in it,” he concluded.
