We play every game to win, says Box2Box FC head coach Randy Reuben after his side beat Smart City FC to win the Ranking 45 Super 4 Tournament.
The mini-competition was held in celebration of G12 Football Club president Hakeem Mustapha Olatunji as he clocks 45 years of age.
Box2Box FC emerged champions in the one-day competition after defeating rivals Smart City FC 3-1 in the decisive match, taking home N250,000.
After the match, Box2Box coach Reuben spoke with Sports247, saying his side’s winning mentality was at the fore of their victory.
“Football is all about business. We bring in everything we have to this game. Our mentality is all about winning. We want to win all games whether it is a friendly match or a competitive match. Anytime my players are on the field, they approach matches with the mentality of winning.”
Randy reserved special praise for Hakeem Mustapha Olatunji, the man behind the event. He continued:
“At the end of it all, it is the celebration of an icon. Happy birthday to him [Hakeem Mustapha Olatunji], more age, more calendars to destroy.
“He is a great man. He has been doing this not today. He has been supportive. He loves football. God bless him.”
