Team manager Melody Football Club of Iwaya, Ibrahim Owolabi says his intention was to see the Iwaya-based club play in the final of the WGB Lagos State FA Cup.
Owolabi disclosed to Sports247 that he is still in pain that his team crashed out in the round of 16 of the Lagos FA Cup.
“Honestly speaking our intention was to play in the final of Lagos FA Cup unfortunately we lost to BYT in the round of 16. I am still in pain because we had the best preparation before the state challenge cup,” he said.
Owolabi said nobody gave us chance until his boys beat Nathaniel’s boys in the opening match. He added that his boys played five matches before they crashed out in Lagos FA Cup and promised to surpass the round of 16 in the next edition.
“Our performance has launched us back to the limelight. The club was two years old but now a lot of clubs in Lagos want to play us because of our performance in Lagos FA Cup, We did well in this year’s FA Cup but we are targeting to go beyond the Round of 16 in the next edition” he added.
Meanwhile, the final of the Lagos FA Cup has not been fixed. Ottasolo FC would face Dannaz in the male final, while FC Robo Queens battle Dannaz Ladies in the female category.
